After 15 or so years working with people (also co-founding, with my late father the very first Salford Heart Care Support Group some 23 years ago), as a community cardiac psychotherapist, with people who have had Cardiac episodes and stress related symptoms, I developed Advanced Therapeutic Services CIC, which is a Social Enterprise (not for profit company) as a reaction to the needs of the people of Salford. There is quick and easy access to ATS as well as some services being free of charge we reduce the cost of therapies.

We offer interventions like hypnotherapy, 1 – 1 counselling/psychotherapy, group stress management (including CBT cognitive behavioral therapy, RET rational emotive therapy, we are experienced in all therapies and offer a multi-skilled service) relaxation classes and or stress management classes. 

The Benefits of our service: 

People learn to understand their physical, emotional and psychological symptoms. We look at unwanted behaviors like anxiety, panic, depression, dependencies, sleep issues etc…we target the underlying issues, and teach immediate and long term practical coping strategies, and develop new coping skills and learn to self care and manage in tandem with medical interventions. ATS’s recent studies have shown that, teaching relaxation techniques to both: individuals and in the group setting is massively beneficial on all levels of self help. Relaxation calms the systems down and helps to build a more robust immune system hence some physical symptoms become more manageable or disappear and people cope much better ensuring a better quality of life. We would like to offer relaxation with stress management classes in each area of Salford… that depends on the take up? 

Furthermore Hypnotherapy has been in the news lately for several successful out comes i.e. weight management, motivation, dealing with trauma etc…locally a few years ago Wythenshawe Hospital carried out a study on Hypnotherapy for I B S now there is a department providing hypnotherapy. MIND, NICE and many other bodies recommend and are pro-active in recommending services like ours.
